Modbury Harriers Flete Point to Point on 30th April 2016

A glorious sunny morning heralded the start to a wonderful day of Point-to-Point horse racing at the stunningly beautiful course in the grounds of the Flete Estate.

Marchand Petit was delighted to be sponsoring the hugely popular Clydesdale race at the very end of the day and what a spectacle it was. Six heavy horses, each weighing around a tonne, thundering down the two furlong course, ably ridden by six Young Farmers, created a wonderful atmosphere. These superb creatures are owned by Tim Ancrum and Aileen Ware of Adventure Clydesdales and they are available for rides across Dartmoor at any time of year www.adventureclydesdales.com

Tim, Aileen and their team have become regular faces at racecourses all over the UK, raising invaluable funds for the Air Ambulance, a vital service particularly for horse riders! In fact a total of £2,000 was raised on the day and Marchand Petit is proud to have contributed towards this. Watch out for an official handover of a suitably large cheque on possibly 12th June at Modbury Harriers Puppy Show. We will let you know!

Rosettes for all and treats for the horses rounded off a most entertaining afternoon. Trophies and prizes were presented by Stuart Cartwright, Director of Marchand Petit based in Modbury together with Claire Northmore, Manager and Julie Leach, Negotiator, both based in the Newton Ferrers branch of Marchand Petit.
