Coasting towards the Kingsbridge Show

From tractors to turtles, show homes to sheep handling, sponsoring and supporting the local community is a core value for Marchand Petit.

On 21st April, The Gazette featured the Coastal Tractor Challenge which was celebrating 100 years of tractor production started by Henry Ford and now encompassing Fordson, Ford and New Holland.

The drivers of the two T6 tractors have completed their coastline tour of England, Wales, Scotland and parts of Ireland.  Philip Gibson and Peter Plehov have so far raised over £15,000 towards a children’s care centre and Cancer Research.

Tristan, one of our team members who took part in the event, when the pioneering duo stopped in Kingsbridge, was delighted to receive a memento of the occasion from Olivia Beaumont MNAEA of Marchand Petit.

Children from Thurlestone, West Alvington and Charleton primary schools will be able to see Tilly the Turtle at the Kingsbridge Show this Saturday.  The giant turtle they created and decorated as part of the Sea Sense exhibition, raising awareness and the importance of the marine environment in all our lives by Kingsbridge based artists, The House Group, will be on display at the Marchand Petit marquee at tomorrow’s Kingsbridge Show.

Local artist Emma Carter helped the children make the turtle, as well as smaller jellyfish and turtles.  Emma currently has an exhibition, Island Artist Annual Solo Show, at the Harbour House Gallery on the Quay.  Running until 3rd September.

To meet Tilly the Turtle and receive a warm welcome visit Marchand Petit’s Stand C7/D7 at the Kingsbridge Show or call the office on 01548 855593.
