About this property

A quaint Grade II listed thatched cottage which has been beautifully renovated throughout with a charming rear garden and parking. No EPC required.

5 Bridge Terrace is a grade II listed thatched property and sits within a conservation area. This charming cottage is the perfect bolthole for those wishing to get away from the madding crowds. The property comprises a sitting/dining room which benefits from a feature window with built in window seat showing views across the valley to woodland. The kitchen is well designed with a range of floor and wall based units. To the first floor are two bedrooms, one is currently used as a study. To the rear of the property is a circular patio seating area with timber pergola with climbing wisteria and clematis. A stream tumbles past at the bottom of the garden.

The property has been renovated to a very high standard, making the most of every ounce of space to include lots of storage whilst still maintaining a stylish character home. The cottage has been re-thatched in the last three years.

5 Bridge Terrace is situated within the charming village of Tuckenhay and just beyond the well reputed Maltsters Arms public house. The property has close proximity to Bow Creek, which is owned by The Duchy of Cornwall and Crownley Woods beyond which is owned by The National Trust. The creek is tidal but navigable by small boats for about 3 hours either side of the high tide. The creek is a tributary of the River Dart estuary, Dartmouth being some 6 miles distant and Totnes with all it's facilities about 4 miles. Tuckenhay is conveniently located for Totnes town, the commercial centre for the South Hams. This part of Devon is renowned for it's outstanding natural beauty with Dartmoor National Park ten miles to the north and stunning beaches and coastline ten miles to the south. The bustling medieval market town has a mainline railway station giving direct connections to London Paddington and Waterloo Eurostar. There is also excellent access to the A38 Devon Expressway, linking Plymouth and Exeter where it joins the M5. Schooling in the area is excellent with a number of well-regarded primary and secondary schools. Totnes boasts a market as well as a good selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and inns.

Directions
From Totnes take the Kingsbridge road and at the top of the bypass, turn left signed Ashprington. Follow this lane for a couple of miles and then you will come to across roads and turn right signed Tuckenhay. Carry on down this steep hill and at the bottom go over the humped bridge and follow the lane until you reach The Maltsters Arms public house on the left. Proceed along and follow the road around to the right as the road starts to rise toward The Mill and 5 Bridge Terrace will be found on the left hand side.
