A detached house with gardens and water frontage, requiring extensive restoration, commanding unobstructed water and woodland views over the Yealm Estuary.
Fenham lies on the lower side of Yealm Road in an enviable position, adjacent to the locally known “Doctor’s Steps”, within half a mile’s almost level walk of the many village facilities. The property’s garage lies on Yealm Road and the secluded rear garden and courtyard area lies below, with the house occupying a terrace with a water/south facing verandah overlooking the principal garden. A lower section of garden lies below the village footpath at the lower level, accessed by a metal gate and to a path which runs directly down to the foreshore and quayside area.
This property has unique qualities but essentially is a restoration/development project in a highly sought after location. It has both water frontage and its own quay, and outstanding views over the Yealm Estuary. Dating from the late 1950’s and with curved glazing to the front bay, and various typical features of the period, the house has fallen into considerable neglect over recent years. Principal rooms, however, retain some of the best views available in the village, from its strategic position elevated above the river.
Newton Ferrers includes a local supermarket, church, Post Office, cafe, primary school, butcher's shop, pharmacist, pub, yacht club and numerous waterfront facilities. Together with its neighbour Noss Mayo the village is a haven for yachtsmen, surrounded by beautiful coastal South Hams scenery and part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Three miles away is the comprehensively equipped village of Yealmpton which also includes a health centre, hairdressers, opticians, and garage. The centre and waterfront of the large city of Plymouth is 11 miles to the west, while Modbury and Kingsbridge lie to the east.
Mains water, electricity, gas and drainage.
