About this property

Situated in an idyllic location, this 2 bedroom cottage offers the perfect lifestyle choice for either a main home or bolt hole. Advantage of parking and southerly aspect garden.

8 Bridge Terrace is a charming end of terrace two bedroom cottage. A perfect lifestyle choice for either somebody looking for a main home or bolt hole in an idyllic location.

The reverse level accommodation creates wonderful reception space with vaulted ceilings with balconies overlooking the garden, stream and woodland beyond.

The ground floor offers two bedrooms, bathroom and sun room. In our opinion the property offers the potential for reconfiguration/extension to fully maximise the space.

Externally the southerly aspect garden abuts a stream leading down to the River Dart. The lower garden offers a perfect picturesque entertaining area. There is a further generous upper garden with large garden shed offering the potential for a home office. (STNC.) The property further benefits from a gated block paved driveway.

8 Bridge Terrace is situated within the charming village of Tuckenhay and just beyond the well reputed Maltsters Arms public house. The property has close proximity to Bow Creek, which is owned by The Duchy of Cornwall and Crownley Woods beyond which is owned by The National Trust. The creek is tidal but navigable by small boats for about 3 hours either side of the high tide. The creek is a tributary of the River Dart estuary, Dartmouth being some 6 miles distant and Totnes with all its facilities about 4 miles. Tuckenhay is conveniently located for Totnes town, the commercial centre for the South Hams. This part of Devon is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty with Dartmoor National Park ten miles to the north and stunning beaches and coastline ten miles to the south. The bustling medieval market town has a mainline railway station giving direct connections to London Paddington and Waterloo Eurostar. There is also excellent access to the A38 Devon Expressway, linking Plymouth and Exeter where it joins the M5. Schooling in the area is excellent with a number of well-regarded primary and secondary schools. Totnes boasts a market as well as a good selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and inns.

From Totnes take the Kingsbridge road and at the top of the bypass, turn left signed Ashprington. Follow this lane for a couple of miles and then you will come to a cross roads and turn right signed Tuckenhay. Carry on down this steep hill and at the bottom go over the humped bridge and follow the lane until you reach The Maltsters Arms public house on the left. Proceed along and follow the road around to the right as the road starts to rise toward The Mill and 8 Bridge Terrace will be found on the left hand side.

On the 18th May 2020, in line with government guidelines for estate agency, we resumed viewings and valuations of property. Where possible we will be minimising the numbers of viewings by first offering buyers a virtual tour. When viewings take place in person, social distancing and safety protocols will be in place.

We would like to remind all buyers that travel to the South Hams should be achievable in a day (round trip) and for those who live further away, a virtual tour with one of our agents will be offered until travel restrictions change.

In the meantime, our team are still available to help by phone, email or video conference.
