Marchand Petit Auction Department announces complete success and guide prices exceeded

On the 28th May 2015 at 3pm Stuart Cartwright MRICS, Auctioneer for Marchand Petit, stepped expectantly into a packed function room, within The Royal Castle Hotel, Dartmouth, with standing room only remaining.

First lot - New Barn Farm: A traditional smallholding situated on the outskirts of Dartmouth comprising a farmhouse, range of traditional and modern barns with 34 acres of ring fenced pasture and woodland. Bidding was swift and within minutes the property was sold in excess of its guide price of £600,000 to a local resident.

Lot 2 – Dovecote: failed to sell in the room, but sold shortly afterwards. This was a rare opportunity to acquire a unique property which came to the market for the first time in some 30 years. With a 3 bedroom main house and a 2 bedroom annexe, which has been run as an established holiday let, this property offered potential to refurbish and extend.

Lot 3 – Sharpitor Villa: “Possibly the most nail-biting and drawn out bidding at auction I have ever experienced,” said Stuart Cartwright following the third lot. Finally selling for well in excess of its guide price, this unique and tucked away 1 bedroom property nestles just above South Sands beach.

Stuart Cartwright speaking afterwards commented that this had been a superb day with lively bidding and reiterated once again that any future client considering selling by auction with Marchand Petit can be assured of the right advice and superb service.
