The history of Fortescue Manor has been documented back as far as 1068. The Fortescue family were first in residence in 1426 and remained until 1667. From Kingsbridge take the road out heading towards Loddiswell. Before corssing the bridge over the River Avon take the right turn signed Woodleigh, drive through the village and after approximately 250 years turn left towards Wood Barton.
