Ermington is a small rural village set in rolling countryside, situated between Ivybridge and Modbury. There is a primary school, public house, bistro and church. For comprehensive shopping centres Ivybridge is to the north, Modbury is to the south and Plymouth is within easy commuting distance to the west. The A38 is close at hand being some 10 minutes away, and also nearby are a number of long sandy beaches, as well as fine cliff top and coastal walks, many of which are owned by the National Trust. The Salcombe and Yealm estuaries are close by providing water sports facilities, and Dartmoor National Park is to the north.
From the Modbury office take the A379 towards Yealmpton and after 1.88 miles just over the river Erme take the right turn signposted to Ermington and Exeter. After about 100 yards turn right at the junction onto the A3121 and after a further half mile turn left into the village of Ermington. At the top of the hill the road opens into the central 'square' where you turn left up Chapel Street leaving the pub on your right and the house is on the left by the telephone box.
