Leave the A38 at the Wrangaton Junction and follow the signs for Modbury onto the A3121. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout and Continue on the A3121 past the village of Ugborough and through the edge of Ermington. At the next roundabout take the second exit onto the A379 signed Plymouth and after about a mile at the top of the hill turn left signposted to Holbeton. Proceed for approx 0.5 miles on this road and then take the second right turn at Wonwell Cross (there is a grand gateway ahead of you with a bull and a bear on the gate posts at this junction) signposted Creacombe and Preston. After a further mile turn left at Creacombe signed to Preston. Go straight over the next crossroads at Darkie Hill. After just over half a mile you turn left by the oak tree, signposted Preston and after half a mile Hideaway Cottage is on your right hand side in the hamlet of Poole Mill. Turn right into the shared drive, leading on to a private block paved drive with parking.

Alternatively:
On leaving the village of Yealmpton follow the B3186 towards Newton Ferrers, after about 2 miles take the first left at the Ashcombe Hill junction towards Holbeton. Continue along this road and take the second turning right as the road dips, follow this road for approximately 1 mile and then at the Darkie Hills Crossroads take the first turning right towards Preston. After just over half a mile you turn left by the oak tree, signposted Preston and after half a mile Hideaway Cottage is on your right hand side in the hamlet of Poole Mill.
